Nestor D. Bonilla, MBA, FHFMA, CRCR, RTA is the Chief Financial Officer of Maverick County Hospital District , assuming this role in May 2014; he has been with the Hospital District for over 13 years. Nestor has served as accounting assistant, accounting supervisor and currently CFO during his tenure. A native of Racine, Wisconsin, Mr. Bonilla received his Bachelor in Business Administration in General Business in 2006 from SulRoss State University and in 2016 he earned is Masters in Business Administration from The University of Texas-Tyler. As the CFO for the hospital district, Mr. Bonilla is responsible for the financial well being of the organization by developing financial projections and accounting services. He oversees all financial and accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, payroll, purchasing, asset management, and grant finance management. As management team member, Mr. Bonilla participates in the strategic planning which includes expense forecasting, assessment of tax rate and cash management strategies. Mr. Bonilla oversees a staff of 3 within the accounting department. He plans, organizes and directs the fiscal services including the development, interpretation, coordination and administration of the hospital districts polices on finance, accounting, insurance, financial/accounting systems, internal controls, auditing and grant management. Mr. Bonilla also serves as one of the investment officers, managing a portfolio of $13-16 million dollars. He is also the organization’s Registered Tax Assessor Collector and is responsible for assessing the ad valorem tax rate on an annual basis. In addition, Mr. Bonilla also oversees the revenue cycle of the hospital districts physician specialty group along with the support of 7 staff members. Mr. Bonilla is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives 2017, Texas Association of Assessing Officers 2009, Government Treasurer’ Organization of Texas 2014, Texas Medical Group Management Association 2016, Texas Association of Counties Investment Academy 2014, he is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association as well as a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative 2014.
