CPRIT is a program that provides complimentary health screenings and colonoscopies. To be eligible, individuals must be between the ages of 45 and 75. Participants can choose from two options: taking home a FIT (fecal immunochemical test) screening kit or undergoing a colonoscopy performed by our skilled surgeons at MCHD.
Our Colon Cancer Prevention Screening Program offers a comprehensive, no-cost initiative for both men and women aged 45 to 75. This program utilizes the Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT), a simple and non-invasive test designed to detect hidden blood in the stool—a potential early sign of colon cancer. The test is easy to complete at home using a stool sample, which can then be sent to our in-house laboratory for fast processing. Results are typically available within 1-2 days.
If the test yields a positive result, our program ensures that patients receive the necessary follow-up care, covering the costs for consultations with primary care physicians, specialists, and any required colonoscopy procedures at our affiliated local hospital. We are committed to helping you take proactive steps toward your health and well-being.
