The Breast and Cervical Cancer Services are available to eligible residents of Maverick, Val Verde, Dimmitt, Uvalde, Zavala, Kinney, Real, Medina, Tom Green, and Edwards County who are not eligible for Medicaid or do not have any other form of health coverage. Eligibility is based on residency, income and resource guidelines per household. The Breast and Cervical Cancer Service provides quality, low-cost Breast Cancer Screening/Diagnostic services and Cervical Cancer Screening/Diagnostic services for eligible clients. These services help women receive regular screening, which is the best method to prevent and detect breast or cervical cancer in its earliest stages.

  • Pelvic exam and Pap test (Pap smear)

Diagnostic Services

  • Diagnostic mammogram
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Breast biopsy
  • Colposcopy, LEEP and cervical biopsy

Diagnostic Services

  • Treatment LEEP
  • Cervical cryotherapy
  • Cervical conizations
  • Case Management/Education

Community Navigators

The Community Navigators also provide assistance in completing applications for the Medicaid for Breast and Cervical Cancer program (MBCC).
