The Breast and Cervical Cancer Services are available to eligible women of Maverick, Val Verde, Dimmitt, Uvalde, Zavala, Kinney, Real, Medina, Tom Green, and Edwards County who are not eligible for Medicaid or do not have any other form of health coverage. Eligibility is based on residency and income guidelines per household. The Breast and Cervical Cancer Service provides quality, free Breast Cancer Screening/Diagnostic services and Cervical Cancer Screening/Diagnostic services for eligible clients. These services help women receive regular screening, which is the best method to prevent and detect breast or cervical cancer in its earliest stages.

  • Pelvic exam and Pap test (Pap smear)

Diagnostic Services

  • Diagnostic mammogram
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Breast biopsy
  • Case Management/Education

Diagnostic Services

  • Colposcopy, LEEP and cervical biopsy
  • Cervical cryotherapy
  • Cervical conizations
  • Case Management/Education

MBCC

The Community Navigators also provide assistance in completing applications for the Medicaid for Breast and Cervical Cancer program (MBCC).
