It is primarily transmitted through contact with infected blood and is particularly common among individuals with certain risk factors, such as those who have injected drugs, have piercings or tattoos, men who have sex with men (MSM), individuals with a history of incarceration, those born between 1945 and 1965, and individuals living with HIV.
At MCHD, we offer FREE Hepatitis C screenings to help identify those at risk. If you test positive, we also provide complimentary treatment options. The screening is quick and simple, performed through a finger prick, with results available in just 15-20 minutes.
