MCHD Planning Future Awareness Events

Maverick County Hospital District Medical Financial Assistance Program and Breast and Cervical Cancer Services Director Luiza Garza informs the community that the district is currently in the planning stages for the district’s October Think Pink (Breast Cancer) Awareness event.

Mrs. Garza states that a date for the event has yet to be finalized but further information will be posted on the Maverick County Hospital District website and Facebook page in the immediate future.

This is our 4th Annual Think Pink Event and we would like to invite the community to participate and assist in raising awareness for Breast Cancer. The BCCS Program helps women receive quality and accessible cancer screening and health services.

The event will feature breast health care information and guest speakers.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), also referred to in America as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness events organized are to raise awareness in the importance of early screening which is the best method to detect breast cancer in its earliest stages.

For any information regarding this event or interest in having a medical checkup through our Breast and Cervical Cancer Services please call us at (830) 757-4950.
