Maverick County Hospital District Holds Press Conference To Announce Breast Cancer Awareness Month Initiatives

Maverick County Hospital District Chief Executive Officer Alma Martinez announced several District initiatives for the month of October, which includes observing National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Mrs. Martinez and other members of the organization held a conference with several media entities to promote and bring awareness to Breast Cancer and invite the community to its 4th Annual Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Event, to be held at the Eagle Pass International Trade Center Building on October 17, from 5 pm – 8 pm.

“We want to extend an invitation to the entire community to join us during this very important event that brings awareness to breast cancer,” said Martinez.

“We want to increase awareness to breast cancer in our community and surrounding areas that the program covers,” commented Luiza Garza, Breast and Cervical Cancer Services (BCCS) Program Director. “We also want to invite the community to assist our 4th Annual Think Pink Event. We will have several guest speakers including Oncologist Dr. Eduardo Miranda, and Dr. Carlos Hernandez – Medical Director for the BCCS Program. Present during the conference were Maverick County Hospital District CEO Alma Martinez, BCCS Director Luiza Garza, Ryan White Program Director Dr. Marcos Trevino, Clinical Operations Manager Eric Rodriguez, and Mental Health Clinical Elias Diaz.
