National Hispanic Heritage Month – Celebrating The Career of Mr. Jesus Casas, CPA – MCHD Board of Trustees Chairman

During National Hispanic Heritage Month, our nation observes the importance and contributions of Hispanics and Latin Americans in our communities. The Maverick County Hospital District is proud to be composed of many Hispanic members who have contributed to our region and achieved positive changes for our residents throughout their careers.

It is during this time that we honor the career of Maverick County Hospital District Board of Trustee Chairman Jesus Casas.

Mr. Jesus Casas, CPA, is a licensed Certified Public Accountant by the State of Texas. His educational background is a BBA with a Major in Finance, with postgraduate studies in the field of Accounting. Mr. Casas has successfully managed his CPA firm for more than 20 years, with experience in governmental accounting, audits, financial advisory, budgeting, and tax preparation.

“Every day I enjoy helping my clients achieve their financial goals. This comes in different forms such as helping them with their tax planning, tax savings, financial structuring, personal budgeting, college, home purchasing, consolidation of loans, etc,” said Casas. “Financial education is very important, and I am always there to make a difference for families in our community.”

Mr. Casas serves as Maverick County Hospital District’s Board of Trustees Chairman. In the past, he has served the community in various important roles and positions, including as member of Maverick County Appraisal District Review Board, Chairman for the City of Eagle Pass Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals, and Chairman for the City of Eagle Pass Bridge System Board of Trustees.

Mr. Casas has also served as a member of the Candles for Life Advisory Board, a nonprofit organization that assist cancer victims in Maverick County.

“Our Heavenly Father has given us tons of blessings in the form of family, friends, and opportunities. It is our duty to give back to the community as gratitude for all the good things that we have,” added Casas.

Mr. Casas was elected to the Maverick County Hospital District Board of Trustees in November 2016 as Vice Chairman before becoming the Board’s President. During his tenure, Mr. Casas has worked closely with his colleagues to bring more doctors and medical services through partnerships with various medical providers in order to provide the community with better healthcare services and resources at the local level.

“There are many needs in our community and Maverick County Hospital District’s Board is susceptible to those needs. As for me, I will follow my faith and help those most vulnerable, children, widows, people with illnesses, and elderly. Those are the people that are most vulnerable, and we should start with them. There are other needs that are very important and I will do my best to help those in need,” concluded Casas.

On behalf of everyone at Maverick County Hospital District, we want to thank Mr. Jesus Casas for his contributions to our communities, and are looking forward to the work and developments your career has in store for our city and organization.
