Mental Health Awareness Month

The month of May is recognized across the Nation as Mental Health Awareness Month.

It is during this time that a focus on all aspects related to mental health problems is brought to the forefront. Maverick County Hospital District recognizes how mental health issues and physical illnesses are intertwined , and focuses on providing needed services to our patients through Behavioral Health Clinician Elias Diaz, LMFT who specializes in assisting members of our community in improving their mental health.

Maverick County Hospital District and Mr. Elias Diaz bring mental health assistance into a healthcare setting and have successfully helped many of our families improve their lives. Earlier this year, Mr. Díaz and MCHD established a monthly Trauma Informed Group Therapy program for many law enforcement agencies in Maverick County, offering free services to firefighters, police officers, Border Patrol agents, and many others.

Mental health problems are often overlooked and in many cases never addressed. Living with any mental health ailment or psychological issues can often weigh heavy on the individual, their loved ones, and society as a whole.

Maverick County Hospital District is here for all of our residents and encourage those who need assistance in improving their mental health to contact our organization.
