The Diabetes self-management education is the cornerstone of care for all individuals with diabetes who want to achieve successful health related outcomes. It is an interactive, collaborative process involving the person with diabetes and the educator. The goal is to make the individual able to manage his/her illness through self monitoring, compliance, physical activity, diet and awareness. Tel: 830-757-8333
The best method to detect breast and cervical cancer in its early stages is through regular screening. The Breast and Cervical Cancer Services program (BCCS) offers clinical breast examinations, mammograms, pelvic examinations, and Pap tests at no or low-cost to eligible women. Any provider can refer a woman diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer to the BCCS offices located at the Maverick County Hospital District Medical Offices Building, suite 120 to apply to Medicaid for Breast and Cervical Cancer (MBCC).
