On Monday, May 27, we as a Nation honor and remember thousands of men and women who have given their all, for our Country.
During this time we honor those who have died while serving in the country's armed forces and vow to never forget their ultimate sacrifice.
Locally, in Maverick County there have been over 53 heroes who have served our country and have paid with their lives, protecting our freedoms and those of others across the entire world.
On this day, we honor each one of them and their loved ones who never got to welcome them home.
“To all our brave men and women of the military forces, we thank you for your service and honor those who have perished defending our freedoms. It is because of those heroes that we enjoy the very freedoms that we live every day in this great Country,” said MCHD Board Trustee Aaron Valdez.
On this Memorial Day, we thank all military service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice but also thank their loved ones who truly know that Freedom is Not Free.
